Meteliai park visitors center exposition created and installed at 2012-2013.
The idea of exposition was inspired by the structure of the Visitors’ Centre building (designed by architects G. Natkevičius and R. Adomaitis). Transparent and elevated construction perfectly fits in the background of the pine wood and its forms repeat the vertical tree trunks. Therefore, pine trunks are used as the most significant elements of exposition. They are reflected in the exposition furniture, convey the information and at the same time extend the pine wood outside. It seems as if pines grow through the building, thus providing the exposition with more light and clarity, and organically joining the interior and exterior.
The symbol of the Regional Park, the European pond turtle, has been chosen to be the graphic symbol and the character of exposition. Turtle’s form and fragments of the shell pattern are used on the furniture, walls and information stands.
The 3D panel which rotates on the vertical axis isolates or integrates the lecture hall and the exposition space. The panel is equipped with multimedia facilities.
The seats are upholstered with thermo-sensitive material which changes its colour accordingly to the changing temperature, e.g. after the hand touch the colour turns from black to brown, green and blue.
The ceiling is decorated with shapes of foliage and birds which are cut from specular material.
The furniture and tables are covered with HPL (high pressure laminate) sheets decorated with genuine digital prints.
